From the 1940s and Raymond Lindeman's field-shaping insights to the present-day work of world-renowned ecologists, Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is a highly influential field station and research destination. Our work plays a critical role in advancing understanding of how we are affecting the environment and how we might protect it. Be part of this incredible legacy and help us make it more accessible to the community!

Become a member! Membership levels and benefits:

  • $25: Cedar Creek’s quarterly newsletter “Field Notes” and an invitation to an annual members-only events
  • $50: all of the above, plus a set of Cedar Creek greeting cards and discounts on fee-based outreach programs.
  • $150: all of the above, plus a personal staff-led tour of Cedar Creek.
  • $3,000 Lifetime Member: all of the above, in perpetuity.

A gift of $25 or more to any of our funds makes you eligible for 12 months of member benefits. Contributions are 100% tax deductible.

  • Research: The Flory Cedar Creek Collaboration Fund supports ecological research that discovers sustainable solutions to environmental challenges, including training young researchers.
  • Education & Outreach: The Cedar Creek Fund primarily supports education and outreach programs for students and visitors, including supporting K-12 in-school programs and science field trips, public events, classes and citizen science initiatives.
  • Conservation: The Cedar Creek Conservation Fund will be used to protect and restore both the species and the ecosystems of Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. From bison and red-headed woodpeckers to bur oaks and peat bogs – we are dedicated to understanding and managing our unique landscape.
  • Capital Improvements: The Capital Improvements Fund supports the development of infrastructure on-site, including creating a new Minnesota Ecology Walk, which will provide a hands-on interpretive experience for members of the public.
  • General Purpose: The Cedar Creek Membership Fund supports all aspects of our mission, including those listed above. We will allocate your gift to the area with the greatest need.
